Dysport Treatments | Hawaii Maui Hilo Kona HonoluluDysport is an injectible anti-wrinkle treatment that is closely related to Botox. Dysport is available at all of our Hawaii facilities. It is a newly approved treatment in the US (as of April 2009), but has been used in Europe for several years. Dysport vs. BotoxDysport shares some chemical similarities to Botox, but while it is based upon the same protein from which Botox is made, the two treatments differ slightly. Dysport is a competing product to Botox. Some European studies indicate a slighlty longer duration of effect with Dysport. However, no thorough US-based studies have yet been completed. Dysport acts on the muscles in the forehead to alleviate creases and lines caused by squinting or frowning. You need to discuss with plastic surgeon Dr. Larry Schlesigner to see if Dysport is the right choice for you. We offer Dysport treatments in all of our Hawaii facilities: Honolulu/Oahu, Kona, and Maui How Dysport WorksDysport is given in a series of injections that are made from the Clostridium botulinim toxin type A. This protein in Dysport immobilizes the muscles around your forehead, preventing you from frowning and over the course of a week, with most patients, the forehead frown lines will diminish or disappear. The frequency with which you will need to repeat injections should be discussed with Dr. Schlesinger at any of our Hawaii facilities.
