About Rhinoplasty
Rhinoplasty is a procedure that can reshape and beautify the nose. There are two categories of rhinoplasty: Caucasian rhinoplasty and Asian rhinoplasty.
Caucasian rhinoplasty can:
- Eliminate a bump on the bridge of the nose
- Improve tip definition of the nose
- Reduce or add to the overall size of the nose
- Change the angle between the nose and upper lip
Asian rhinoplasty can:
- Create a dorsal bridge
- Create tip definition and projection
- Narrow flared nostrils by performing a wedge reduction
- Improve the flatness seen in many Asian profiles
- Reverse a bi-maxillary retrusion (the cause of upper lip looking too large)
Undergoing Rhinoplasty at our Honolulu Practice
During a rhinoplasty procedure, you will be placed under general anesthesia. As your Hawaii rhinoplasty surgeon, I will then reshape the nose in a manner that matches your anatomy, needs and expectations. Once the surgery ends, you will be taken to recovery to awaken from the anesthesia. When you go home, you will have a splint on your nose for about 5 days. This splint allows your nose to remain supported during its initial healing phase after your rhinoplasty.
